ŞAHİKA ERCÜMEN
“My life has started when I held my breath for the first time, not I took my first breath.”
Şahika Ercümen
Professional free-diver, free-diving trainer, nutrition specialist and dietician Şahika Ercümen was born on 16 January 1985, in Çanakkale/Turkey. She graduated from Çanakkale Milli Piyango Anatolian Highschool and Ankara Başkent University – Nutrition and Dietetics Department. Ercümen still attends the same faculty for her Master’s Degree.
After her asthma disease she had in childhood, Ercümen started doing sports and got many world-wide successes. Since 1998, in the swimming & underwater sports tournaments, she has won more than 100 medals and awards. Besides, she has many national records and 3 official world records.
She participated in many social responsibility projects like diving with handicapped divers, pointing out the water pollution, protecting the endangered species of wild fauna. Moreover, she presented some TV shows and organizations, appeared on variable advertisements and movies. She also gives seminars and workshops about motivation, success and proper breathing.

Free-diving World Record Holder Şahika Ercümen achieved the impossible with the collaboration of her main-sponsor
GLOBE STONE - DÜNYA TAŞ and broke the 110 meters World Record on 22 October 2016, in Kaş / Antalya.
To Deeper Than 100 Meters with 100 Children of Fallen Soldiers…
Şahika Ercümen correlated her dive to a social responsibility project, as she does for her every record attempt, and held her breath for the legacy, the children of fallen soldiers. She dedicated her 110 metres World Record to the CHILDREN OF TURQUOISE PROJECT. The project has been started by GLOBE STONE DÜNYA TAŞ in May 2016, in İzmir. Within the scope of the project, 100 fallen soldiers’ children are supported financially and accompanied by each GLOBE STONE personnel along their career steps and overcoming the difficulties they may face until they will stand on their own feet.
Additionally, Ercümen highlighted the endangered species of wild fauna.
